George Hubbard I purchased this record as a new fan of Built To Spill. I've listened to all of their records since Keep it Like a Secret, and i have to say, this one is aptly titled. "The Normal Years" pulses youth and shows the roots of habits and ideas that Martsch built onto for the following two decades. You can feel the band feeling out their niche in rhythmic alt rock and it's beautiful, energetic, and all around fun. Favorite track: Sick & Wrong.
